The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Find the BEST Half Hourly Electricity Suppliers

If you’re a business or organisation who wants to find their cheapest half hourly electricity suppliers wherever you are in the UK, then this article will help.

That’s because there’s a friendly team of experts at D-Energi who can help find a half hourly supply contract to meet your needs and save money.

It’s this issue of boosting profitability that will be the big incentive for any firm using half hourly supply since even a small reduction in the unit rate can deliver big savings.

However, the procurement process for half hourly supply is more complicated than it is for small firms and it is recommended by Ofgem that you seek professional advice before scouring the market and then searching signing on the dotted line.

Searching for cheaper half hourly electricity prices

The first issue when searching for cheaper half hourly electricity prices is that you will need a specific meter in place for accurate measuring of your electricity consumption.

The data is collected every 30 minutes and sent automatically to the provider, but this information can also be used by another supplier to find out when your peak periods of demand are and then tailor their offering to reduce your bills.

In addition, you can also use a half hourly data spreadsheet based on the same information that is collected to help you reduce consumption by switching to cheaper periods of demand or to simply use less electricity.

It helps that an energy consultancy is available from some providers which will see experts look at how and when you consume electricity and recommend ways of using less, which may also include introducing newer, energy-saving equipment for this process.

Half hourly electricity supply market

The half hourly electricity supply market is a competitive one, and you should begin your search for the best half hourly electricity prices with a new provider six months before your current contract comes up for renewal.

There are two reasons why you should begin the search early, and they are:

  • The procurement process is complex and you’ll need this extra time to negotiate and ensure your contract is right for you,
  • Not every supplier will want to quote but simply asking you are helping to stimulate competition in the market to benefit all firms.

It helps also that the D-Energi team is capable of searching the entire market for a potential provider and they can then negotiate on your behalf and ensure that a contract will deliver the savings you are looking for.
