The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Can Your Business Save by Switching Half Hourly Electricity Suppliers?

by D-ENERGi

In answer to the question, ‘Can your business save by switching half hourly electricity suppliers?’ Then if you use D-Energi, it will be ‘Yes’.

That’s because the team of experts has the experience to help you switch your half hourly electricity provider for lower and better rates.

This is a great opportunity for you to reduce your business costs but there will be some firms who may not understand what half hourly, or HH, electricity meters are.

Half hourly electricity meter

A half hourly electricity meter will send your electricity usage data to the supplier every 30 minutes, hence the name ‘half hourly’ electricity.

This means you will no longer receive estimated bills and your supplier, and potential suppliers will know exactly what your electricity usage levels are and when you use your energy.

It is also possible to use software so you can analyse your data to see if there are easy savings to be made by using less electricity or switching your firm’s periods of peak use to an off-peak tariff that will deliver bigger cost savings.

However, you will need to compare half hourly commercial suppliers to get the better deals but sourcing quotes on a like-for-like basis for HH meters can be confusing.

It’s also possible for firms with more than one premises to consolidate their meters and tariffs to use just one energy provider.

Lower half hour electricity prices for firms

These lower half hour electricity prices tend to be for firms with high energy needs and their data should enable a potential supplier to tailor their offering to best meet that organisation’s needs.

It’s also possible to use a comparison website to find a cheaper half hourly electricity provider but the website itself may not be searching the entire marketplace so you may be missing out on better deals.

The best way is to contact a supplier directly or speak with the D-Energi team who will, in just a few minutes, take some details and then search for the best deals that will meet your needs.

This is a great opportunity for lowering overheads and the data means that the deals offered will be tailored to your energy demands.

Indeed, this is a process that all firms and organisations should undertake every year as a matter, of course, to ensure that they are never paying more than they need for their electricity supply.

If you want to test whether your business can save by switching half-hourly electricity suppliers, then contact the friendly D-Energi team to find out more.
