The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Tips for an Energy Consultancy

by D-ENERGi

One of the issues that we regularly highlight with D-Energi articles is the effectiveness of an energy consultancy in helping to reduce overheads for firms.

Here we will look at some of the tips and reasons why all businesses, regardless of their size or the industry they work in, should contemplate considering using a consultant for reducing their bills.

It’s important to appreciate that a consultant will not only be giving your firm energy advice but they will also be able to look at your energy bills to see whether you are on the correct deal and whether your supplier has been charging you correctly.

This alone could be a worthwhile undertaking for the consultant who will also be able to offer advice to help your business make the right decisions when it comes to sourcing energy supply.

Experience with energy services

A consultant who has lots of experience with energy services will be able to look at your energy usage levels to see whether it’s worthwhile switching from a peak period of demand to an off-peak period to save money.

On top of this, the consultancy will also look at the various ways of powering your business and provide an analysis of what can be done to reduce costs.

For example, this may include switching to a supplier offering green energy or installing solar power to help underpin your firm’s own business ethos.

Reducing carbon emissions is a major part of business life today and a consultant will be able to provide evidence of the steps you have taken which will offer customers a good impression of your business.

Advice and guidance from an energy service company

But it’s also important to appreciate that the advice and guidance from an energy service company is not just about making recommendations just the once.

There will be a need for regular updates for some firms to ensure that any recommended steps have been achieved and to help with future energy reduction processes.

This will also mean that your firm will enjoy advice about the latest energy prices and where you can get the best possible deals – and they will help ensure that the supplier delivers on their offers and prices.

The ultimate aim is to reduce consumption and overheads to boost profitability and it’s here that the D-Energi team can help with an energy consultancy offering.
