The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

D-ENERGi would like to commend the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and all civil servants involved working around the clock to implement the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. We appreciate BEIS efforts in working with all non-domestic suppliers over the last few weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following:

  • The scheme is only open to customers which have signed agreements with their suppliers from the 1st April 2022 onwards. The Energy Bill Relief Scheme comes into effect from the 1st October and a discount will be applied until 31st March 2023.
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • As portrayed in some media outlets there is no price cap for businesses. The price cap is on the wholesale element price only. Please do not expect the unit rates of 21.1 p/kwh for electricity and 7.5 p/kwh for gas to appear on your bills. These rates do not include the many other non-commodity costs which make up your bill for both gas and electricity.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Why every organisation should compare business gas prices

With many organisations facing rising energy costs it makes sense that they should compare business gas prices on a regular basis.

That’s because their gas bills may be eating up more of their profits than they realise and may not be able to reduce their use of gas.

However, there is an easier way of reducing gas prices and that is to use a firm of experts in their field who will have the latest and best gas prices and deals available; that organisation is D-Energi.

Energy experts can find a commercial gas quote

The energy experts can find a commercial gas quote that should be much cheaper than a business is currently paying so they can reduce their bills without having to reduce usage to lower their costs.

The best way of doing this is to compare business gas prices among different providers to ensure the organisation is receiving the very best price available and the process is straightforward.

It makes sense too since the hard work is done by those who understand the market and with business gas prices and deals changing daily means they will also know who is offering the best deal currently.

It would also be true to say that many firms are in a contract with their business gas supplier on terms that could be improved by switching suppliers; no-one wants to be paying more than they should for using business gas and there are cost savings to be made.

It should also be appreciated that the process of switching suppliers is seamless and there will be no loss of gas supply to the business premises.

A deal with the cheapest gas tariff

Many firms and organisations may not appreciate just how competitive the market is to attract them as a new customer and while the current supplier may not have much of an incentive to improve their business gas prices, there will be a business gas provider which is more eager to offer a deal with the cheapest gas tariff.

One way of doing this is to compare the variety of deals and prices on offer and find a supplier who best meets a business’s needs and it’s not just about saving money on the bills but also other elements including customer service, for instance.
