The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Why Your Commercial Energy Prices Aren’t Getting Cheaper

by D-ENERGi

As a busy business owner, you may follow the advice to check potential new energy providers when your firm needs a new supply contract but there may be reasons why your commercial energy prices aren’t getting cheaper.

One of these reasons could be down to the fact that you are not switching energy providers to access a cheaper deal since remaining with the same supplier may mean your unit rates never decrease, which means your bills remain the same or go up.

In addition, your supplier may roll you over onto a deemed contract with higher rates automatically because you failed to take action in the window of opportunity when they contacted you with details of your next year’s contract.

Unless your firm is a micro-business, then you may find getting out of a deemed contract difficult and you may need to see out the deal until it ends, even though it is at a higher rate than a rival supplier will offer.

Source a cheaper commercial energy quote

It’s this ability to source a cheaper commercial energy quote when necessary that will help you and your business reduce overheads and boost profitability but the route to do so can appear to be confusing.

As a business owner, you could contact energy suppliers directly and try to compare their offers but this may be more difficult since each offer is bespoke to your firm’s needs.

Or you could use a comparison site to compare commercial energy deals between providers and then speak with the recommended provider to organise your bespoke deal. Again, this can be time-consuming to arrange.

One of the best ways to scour the market in a bid to find cheaper commercial energy quotes is to speak with the friendly team at D-Energi who will search the entire market of providers to find a deal that meets your needs.

Offers from the new commercial energy provider

Among the offers from a new commercial energy provider is the ability to have an energy consultancy undertaken.

This energy consultancy will help you reduce your energy usage and deliver larger savings on your outgoings.

In addition to finding a cheaper deal and checking your previous bills, the energy consultant may recommend various tips to reduce everyday usage of energy, including switching to low energy lighting that is more efficient or investing in new equipment that uses less energy.

For more help and information about understanding your commercial energy bill and why it’s not getting any cheaper, then you need to speak with the D-Energi team.
