The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Why Do Business Energy Prices Per Kwh Vary?

In an ideal world, business energy prices per kWh (kilowatt hour) will not vary or if they do, by just a small amount but then there would be no competition and the opportunity of reducing bills.

This is where the experts at D-Energi really come into their own because the team is able to search the entire market and find a new provider with better and cheaper tariffs.

In addition, there are suppliers available who will offer an energy consultancy to help reduce your consumption levels of gas and electricity, so your savings will be even greater.

It also helps that by reducing energy consumption, you will be helping our environment as well as boosting your own firm’s green credentials.

Business electricity rates per kWh

Business owners also need to appreciate that business electricity rates per kWh not only vary between providers but they are also influenced by factors.

Among the issues that will dictate the price being quoted to your business will be your firm’s geographic location, how big your premises are and how many people you employ.

A potential supplier will also need to know how much electricity or gas you are using and whether you have any plans for expansion.

This means that sourcing a new business electricity or gas deal becomes a tad complicated because there are so many factors that make up a bespoke deal.

As a business owner, you will also need to understand what the unit price is, it’s the amount charged for the energy being used and is measured in kWh and there’s the standing charge to calculate as well which is the amount paid every day for delivering gas and electricity to your premises.

Compare energy prices

An effective way to compare energy prices is to use a comparison site for this purpose or speak with the D-Energi team.

You could also contact suppliers directly but this is a time-consuming process and with a comparison website you need to appreciate that they are probably not searching all suppliers and there could be better deals available elsewhere.

However, unless you can access the entire market, you will know what these are so it’s fortunate that the D-Energi team are able to do this after taking a few details to understand what your firm’s energy needs are.

If you would like more help to understand why business energy prices per kWh vary so widely, then you need to speak with the D-Energi team who can help and then search the market to find you a better energy deal.
