The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

D-ENERGi would like to commend the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and all civil servants involved working around the clock to implement the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. We appreciate BEIS efforts in working with all non-domestic suppliers over the last few weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following:

  • The scheme is only open to customers which have signed agreements with their suppliers from the 1st April 2022 onwards. The Energy Bill Relief Scheme comes into effect from the 1st October and a discount will be applied until 31st March 2023.
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • As portrayed in some media outlets there is no price cap for businesses. The price cap is on the wholesale element price only. Please do not expect the unit rates of 21.1 p/kwh for electricity and 7.5 p/kwh for gas to appear on your bills. These rates do not include the many other non-commodity costs which make up your bill for both gas and electricity.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Why A Cheap Business Gas Supplier is What Your Firm Needs

by D-ENERGi

Among the many reasons why a cheap business gas supplier is just what your firm needs is the opportunity to reduce overheads and boost profits.

With a simple phone call, you could substantially reduce your business gas bill by switching supplier.

Unfortunately, according to a government survey, around 40% of firms and organisations have never switched their utility provider before which means they are probably paying more than they should be for their gas and electricity. It doesn’t have to be this way.

The market is regulated and competition is encouraged so firms and organisations should look on a regular basis at switching suppliers to reduce their bills.

Cheap business gas and electric suppliers entering the market

While many firms will stick with the ‘big six’ suppliers there are cheap business gas and electric suppliers entering the market on a regular basis offering not only cheaper prices but better customer service and other attractive offerings as well.

For example, a new utility provider may offer the opportunity of an energy consultancy so not only will you enjoy lower prices but the opportunity of reducing energy usage means you could save even more.

This consulting may lead to the introduction of new energy-efficient equipment, for instance, or source a new tariff that better meets your firm’s needs.

Again, all it takes is a quick call to the D-Energi team who will be able to provide more information and deal with the switchover process.

Finding a new business gas provider

Finding a new business gas provider is straightforward and there’s no loss of supply when the switchover process takes place.

Along with lower energy costs and improved profitability, you can also boost your environmental credentials by reducing the amount of energy you use though you also need to be aware that there is a range of tariffs and deals available, and they change on a regular basis.

Again, it will help to speak with experts who not only understand how the market operates but can find the bespoke offering that best meets your needs.

Essentially, by lowering your energy bills to boost profits will mean you aren’t spending more than you need to on utility bills.

So, while you may be switching to a business gas or electricity provided you may never have heard of previously, you can be reassured that they will probably deliver better rates and an all-round improved offering then you currently enjoy.
