The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Where are the Cheapest Business Electricity Prices?

If you need to find the cheapest business electricity prices for your firm, but don’t know where to start, then this article will help.

Before we explain the process, it is perhaps best to appreciate that the easiest way to compare the business energy supply market with an impartial service is to contact the friendly team at D-Energi first.

Alternatively, you could undertake this comparison exercise which can be straightforward, but it can also be confusing. You will need to know:

    • When your current contract comes to an end
    • What your meter point number is
    • How much electricity your firm consumes every year.

Cheapest business electricity supplier

Armed with this information, you can then check out the cheapest business electricity supplier for meeting your needs.

There are, along with contacting D-Energi, two other ways of finding a potential supplier:

      • You could contact business electricity providers directly, but this can be time-consuming and confusing trying to compare their deals
      • Or you could use a website to compare business electricity suppliers online which is a quick way of finding out the market rate for your needs, but the site may not be searching the entire market.

Obviously, this issue of not searching the entire market may give you a disadvantage because there could be cheaper and better deals available that you will be unaware of.

Sourcing the cheapest business electricity rates UK

There’s no doubt that sourcing the cheapest business electricity rates UK can be difficult and you should begin the search when your current provider tells you of your next year’s contract details.

This then opens a window of opportunity for you to search the market and undertake the switch to your new provider.

You also need to appreciate the difference between fixed and variable tariffs, whether there are discounts for signing up and you may also be interested in a green supplier to meet your environmental ethos.

Fortunately, the business energy supply market in the UK is a competitive one and rather than restricting your search to the ‘Big Six’, it’s worth the time and effort finding other firms to become your supplier.

If you would like more help about finding the cheapest business electricity prices and get help with the switchover process, then you should speak with the D-Energi team today.
