The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

When Should I Switch Business Energy Suppliers?

by D-ENERGi

Business energy can be difficult to understand and the switching process can seem especially complicated.  That’s why D-Energi has created a simple way for you to compare business energy suppliers and switch to cheaper business gas and electricity.

Actually, the most common question asked when it comes to compare business electricity or gas suppliers is ‘is there a perfect time to switch business energy suppliers?’

Can I switch business energy supplier at any time?

No, you can’t, unfortunately. Once you had agreed on a deal with a new supplier you are locked into a contract – it is important to keep note of your contract start and end dates so that you don’t automatically get locked into a new contract at very expensive prices.

You can, however, lock in a new contract six to twelve months before your current deal ends. You should be aware that each supplier will have a different renewal window. Many businesses can save large amounts on their business energy by locking themselves into a new contract early in their removal window.

When is the best time to switch business energy suppliers?

The ideal time to switch business energy suppliers is when your existing contract is coming to an end. Check your latest business energy bill to see when your current deal is due to end.

If you have not changed to a new deal in the last twelve months then it is more than likely that you are overpaying for your business electricity and gas. You may actually have been moved to a rollover contract which will mean that you will be on the most expensive rates for your business energy.

Why should I switch business energy suppliers?

Many businesses overlook the cost of their business energy, which means that they are spending a lot more on their utilities than they need to. However, most businesses are profit-driven, and reducing energy costs will mean reducing outgoings, which makes it one of the simplest ways to find savings.

Switching with D-Energi means you can access the cheapest prices for your business energy as we will compare business gas and business electricity prices for you and let you know the cheapest deal available.
