The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Tips to Access Cheap Business Energy Deals

All firms and organisations will be looking to monitor their overheads on a regular basis and these tips to access cheap business energy deals may help cut costs.

This reduction in outgoings will also boost profitability and you should also be able to boost your green credentials also.

The most obvious way is to switch to a new business energy tariff from a provider who will meet your needs.

The best time for doing this is when your current energy supplier gets in touch with details of your next year’s contract; it may also be worthwhile renegotiating with your current supplier for a better deal.

Access cheap business electricity deals

Once your firm or organisation has decided to look at whether there are cost savings to be made, then you can access cheap business electricity deals by using online comparison sites.

There are lots of these sites available and they are easy to use, but they may not be searching the entire marketplace for the supply of business electricity.

Also, while these sites may appeal to a business owner struggling for time, the site itself will highlight a potential deal but you’ll still need to speak with the supplier because this must be a bespoke offering.

Firms and organisations can also contact energy providers directly but this can be a time-consuming way to find a cheaper deal and you’ll need to give providers the same details every time. The obvious downside to this exercise is that you will probably miss out on cheaper and better deals from other providers because you aren’t searching the entire market.

Cheap business gas deal

The sites can also be used for those wanting a cheap business gas deal, and while it is not possible to get a dual fuel deal like we can for our homes, you can get electricity and gas supplied from the same provider.

Other tips for reducing your energy bills is to sign up for a deal of more than one year and there are providers available who may offer impressive terms for up to five years.

This is a sound solution for those who believe that energy prices may increase in the short-term and help with cash flow planning.

However, the quickest and easiest way for a firm to access cheap business energy deals is to speak with the helpful team of experts at D-Energi who can search the entire marketplace and find a deal that will meet your needs and reduce costs.
