The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Time to Get A New Business Energy Quote?

by D-ENERGi

If your current business energy provider has been in touch with details of your next year’s contract, then this is the time to get a new business energy quote.

That’s because failing to search the marketplace for a cheaper deal may see you being moved automatically to a tariff that could be much more expensive.

This could be the price of inaction when spending just a few minutes searching for a new provider could save you a substantial amount of money on your overheads for the coming year.

There are lots of energy providers available and you could contact them directly or use one of the energy comparison websites to find a deal to meet your needs.

Looking for a business electricity quote

So, for example, you may be looking for a business electricity quote from a new provider and while contacting suppliers directly can be time-consuming and distracting, the comparison site will be a quicker alternative.

The issue here is that the comparison site may not search the entire marketplace which may mean you miss out on better and cheaper deals from other providers.

Also, you will need to contact the provider recommended by the comparison site because all suppliers need to offer a bespoke deal to meet your needs. This means you’ll spend more time dealing with a new provider.

One reason for searching the marketplace is that you could find a cheap deal from another provider and use this as a negotiating tactic to get a cheaper price from your current supplier.

Looking for a new business gas quote

It may also be that you are looking for a new business gas quote from a provider and you could follow the same steps as that for electricity detailed above.

While it’s not possible to get a dual fuel deal for the business like we can for our homes, you could contact the same supplier to deliver both fuels for your needs.

Switching to a new business gas or electricity provider is also seamless and there’s no loss of supply to your firm’s premises when you undertake the process. This should bring peace of mind to those who may be reluctant to switch.
