The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

D-ENERGi would like to commend the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and all civil servants involved working around the clock to implement the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. We appreciate BEIS efforts in working with all non-domestic suppliers over the last few weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following:

  • The scheme is only open to customers which have signed agreements with their suppliers from the 1st April 2022 onwards. The Energy Bill Relief Scheme comes into effect from the 1st October and a discount will be applied until 31st March 2023.
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • As portrayed in some media outlets there is no price cap for businesses. The price cap is on the wholesale element price only. Please do not expect the unit rates of 21.1 p/kwh for electricity and 7.5 p/kwh for gas to appear on your bills. These rates do not include the many other non-commodity costs which make up your bill for both gas and electricity.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

The Simple Way to Compare Business Electricity Prices Per Kwh

If you are a business owner and want to compare business electricity prices per kWh because you want to reduce your bills, then you need a really simple way to go about this.

The simple step is to call the D-Energi experts because they can scour the whole market for you to secure a tariff that will best meet your needs.

The team can also explain the small print and why this deal is the one for you.

You could also decide that contacting providers individually is the route that you want to go down but this can be confusing, as well as time-consuming, giving providers the same information and then trying to work out who is offering the best deal.

You can also use a business electricity comparison website to search for cheap deals being offered but you should be aware of some issues.

Business electricity prices per kWh

While these energy comparison platforms offer a quick way to find the market rate for your firm’s needs, you should appreciate that business electricity prices per kWh are not just the only price to appreciate.

While you should look for a tariff with a lower unit rate, that’s the amount you pay for the energy your firm consumes, you should find a lower standing charge because you may not realise that signing up to a contract with a higher standing charge than you currently pay may eradicate any potential savings you could be making.

This is an easy trap to fall into and if you use a business energy comparison site, you will have to negotiate directly with the recommended supplier and may inadvertently accept their contract verbally and you will then be tied to it for 12 months – unless you are a micro business and you should be able to switch providers.

There’s no doubt that these contracts can be confusing and the process does appear to be intimidating but all firms should compare their business energy costs every year because this not only helps to stimulate marketplace competition, it also ensures that your overheads are kept as low as possible.

Companies that want cheap business gas prices per kWh

The issue over electricity prices will extend to those companies that want cheap business gas prices per kWh to reduce their bills.

While many companies will be spending a lot less on their gas overheads, it’s still worth spending the time finding out whether there are savings to be made.

Again, the D-Energi team offers a one-stop-shop to check the business gas and electricity supply market to locate a deal that will best meet your needs and reduce overheads and they can also take care of the paperwork.

If you want to compare business electricity prices per kWh, and for gas and have experts take care of this process for you, then you should speak to the D-Energi team today.
