The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

D-ENERGi would like to commend the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and all civil servants involved working around the clock to implement the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. We appreciate BEIS efforts in working with all non-domestic suppliers over the last few weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following:

  • The scheme is only open to customers which have signed agreements with their suppliers from the 1st April 2022 onwards. The Energy Bill Relief Scheme comes into effect from the 1st October and a discount will be applied until 31st March 2023.
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • As portrayed in some media outlets there is no price cap for businesses. The price cap is on the wholesale element price only. Please do not expect the unit rates of 21.1 p/kwh for electricity and 7.5 p/kwh for gas to appear on your bills. These rates do not include the many other non-commodity costs which make up your bill for both gas and electricity.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

The Checklist for the Cheapest Business Electricity Prices

If you are worried that your business is overpaying for its electricity, then you need this checklist for finding the cheapest business electricity prices today.

It’s important that you source the best business electricity rates possible for your firm to ensure that you not only overpay on your bills but to boost profitability as well.

Not every firm will be checking to see whether there are cheaper electricity and gas deals available every year, indeed one government survey reveals that around 40% of firms have never bothered switching for several years.

While most small businesses will be busy dealing with day-to-day activities, it’s still worth spending the time finding a cheaper deal to ensure you aren’t moved automatically onto more expensive deemed rates for not checking when your contract is up for renewal.

Research the cheapest business electricity rates UK

But when you begin to research the cheapest business electricity rates UK, do you know how much your business should pay for its electricity?

This is not an easy question to answer since is a range of criteria that a potential supplier will use which means they must offer a bespoke deal for meeting your needs.

However, a potential small business electricity provider will look at:

  • Where your firm is located
  • The industry you are working in
  • How many employees your business has
  • And whether you have plans for expansion.

All of these issues are important to a potential electricity provider to ensure that they create a deal that meets your current and future needs.

You also need to appreciate that larger firms will have a lower unit rate than you will and some providers may even decline to quote depending on your geographic location.

Finding the cheapest business electricity supplier

So, how do you go about finding the cheapest business electricity supplier when the competition is so stiff in the UK?

If you have the time, you could contact providers directly and get a quote from them or you could use a small business electricity comparison website to find out what the market rate might be a firm of your size and location.

While this is the easy way to get an idea of the prices that may be available, you should be aware that the site itself is unlikely to be searching the entire market for you and may just restrict its search to a select number of potential providers.

The easiest and simplest way to get the cheapest small business electricity prices for meeting your needs is to scour the entire market and to use a firm of experts who can act on your behalf to find the best and cheapest deal.

That’s why you should contact D-Energi to discuss their checklist for finding the cheapest business electricity prices and you should contact them today to find out more.
