The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Save with Lower Business Energy Prices per kWh

by D-ENERGi

For those firms or organisations wanting to reduce their running costs then saving with lower business energy prices per kWh (kilowatt hour) is a great way to start.

You’ll need to switch to a tariff that has a lower unit rate and these units are measured per kilowatt hour (kWh) and this is the unit of electricity that your business uses and will be charged for.

However, while finding a tariff with a lower unit cost may be easy, you need to be aware that you will be needing a tariff with a cheaper standing charge.

The standing charge is the daily fee for covering the transporting of electricity to your premises and also maintaining the National Grid.

Cheaper business electricity prices per kWh

This last point is important because while you may get much cheaper business electricity rates per kWh, the standing charge may be more so you will not be making any savings.

Essentially, what you are looking for is a deal that not only offers a lower unit cost but also a cheaper standing charge.

For those who are looking to switch electricity providers and save money then it’s time to dig out your most recent electricity bills because the information a new provider will be needed will be on there.

The price you currently pay per kilowatt hour will also be detailed and this is the starting point for negotiations.

Another important aspect when researching electricity prices for business is that the prices may change on a daily basis so you may get a great quote on one day but spend too long contemplating whether it’s the right deal for meeting your needs and then find the price may have increased when you decide to switch.

Visit a site that will compare energy prices

You may opt to visit a site that will compare energy prices for you and while the site may give a fair indication of the market rate, it may not be searching the whole of the marketplace.

This means you might be missing out on cheaper and better deals from another provider.

You could also contact business electricity suppliers directly but this is a time-consuming process because you will need to give them the same information every time.

When researching the market prices you will also need to appreciate where your business is located, the industry you are in and how much electricity you use every year. Also, the length of contract that you are looking for may also lead to cheaper prices being quoted.

Another great way to access lower business energy prices per kWh is to speak with those who understand how the market works and who have access to the latest deals and offers that will best meet your needs which means speaking with the team at D-Energi.
