The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Save on Bills with a Business Electricity Comparison

by D-ENERGi

While nearly every firm and organisation will be able to save on bills with a business electricity comparison, the process itself is less straightforward than when comparing prices for our homes.

One reason for this is that there are many more electricity plans for businesses available than for domestic consumers which means finding the plan that’s right for your business is more complicated.

It can be a time-consuming process too, working out how much a new deal will cost and this will depend on issues including the size and location of your business and the industry you work in.

Indeed, when looking to save on electricity bills, it’s important that you get several quotes for business electricity supply to ensure you are accessing a better deal.

Process for a business energy comparison

However, the process for a thorough business energy comparison can be a confusing process when using online comparison sites.

While the sites offer a quick way to find the market rate for your business, the site is probably not searching the entire marketplace to find the best deal to meet your needs.

In addition, you will still need to contact the supplier recommended by the comparison site so they can offer a bespoke deal which may not match the price being quoted in the original search.

In addition to finding a supplier, you will also need to appreciate the price being quoted in kilowatt hours (kWh) and also their standing charge to ensure you are making a genuine saving.

A business gas comparison

This process to find a new electricity supplier also extends to the search for a business gas comparison and you could contact suppliers directly.

This is also a time-consuming process and there’s the obvious downside of missing out on what could be cheaper and more beneficial quotes from other suppliers.

There may also be the offer of an energy consultancy from a potential supplier or energy broker who will help you reduce how much gas and electricity you use to help deliver better long-term savings.

If you need more information on how to save with a business electricity comparison exercise, and also for gas supply, then you need to contact the experts at D-Energi who have access to the entire marketplace and can, in just a few minutes, find a cheaper and better supplier for you.
