The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Move to Lower Business Gas Prices

by D-ENERGi

Most firms will regularly undertake an exercise to examine their overheads to see where savings can be made this could see your business enjoy lower business gas prices as a result.

The process may also mean that a business owner will need to consider whether they should switch to a new business gas supplier.

Gas prices fluctuate on a regular basis and are subject to a number of factors, so there is no good or bad time to switch gas suppliers.

The best time to look at whether there may be a cheaper deal on offer is when your supplier gets in touch with the next contract details as this opens a window of opportunity.

Business gas suppliers UK

There’s a lot of competition among business gas suppliers UK to attract you as a customer and there’s also a wide range of prices and offerings.

Understanding how a deal is put together and whether it’s available for you is crucial in finding a cheaper and better tariff.

In addition, some suppliers may offer other benefits such as an energy consultancy to help you reduce your levels of gas consumption and enjoy bigger savings.

Some suppliers may also offer a dedicated account manager, for example, or offer a discount if you pay by direct debit.

For those who may be wary about switching to a new business gas supplier, then not acting may mean that you are automatically moved onto a ‘deemed’ contract which tends to have much higher rates.

Finding cheaper business electricity prices

The price for inactivity will see your overheads increase and this situation also extends to finding cheaper business electricity prices.

While most businesses will be spending more on electricity, it’s worthwhile taking the time to find cheaper deals for both gas and electricity.

And unlike sourcing a dual-fuel deal for our homes, firms cannot do this but you can have the same supplier deliver your energy needs.

As mentioned, some firms may decide not to switch because they may believe there could be a loss of energy supply but this will not happen as the sector is still closely regulated by Ofgem.

If your business wants to move to lower business gas prices, and also to cheaper electricity deals, then you need to work with experts who can find these deals in a few minutes, which means speaking with the friendly team at D-Energi.
