The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

How to Source Lower Business Energy Prices

by D-ENERGi

For all firms and organisations wanting to know how they can source lower business energy prices then this article will help point you in the right direction.

However, it’s important to appreciate that the team of experts at D-Energi, with just a few details and in a few minutes, can find cheaper business energy prices than you currently enjoy.

Or, you could contact business energy providers directly and negotiate with them in a bid to find lower bills but this can be a time-consuming undertaking and there’s no guarantee you will find a cheaper provider.

Indeed, one government survey has revealed that around 40% of firms have never switched business energy suppliers so they are likely to be paying more than is necessary on energy bills; by spending just a few minutes you could make substantial savings on your overheads.

Search for a new business energy supplier

This search for a new business energy supplier can be as complicated as you want to make it and you could use an online comparison site to find a new supplier.

These sites will help provide an insight into what the current market rates at for your firm’s supply of business energy will be though there are issues around your location, the industry you are in and how much energy you use. Larger energy uses can negotiate better terms.

However, these comparison sites may not search all of the potential business energy suppliers so you could be missing out on better and cheaper deals.

You will also need to contact the business energy supplier highlighted by the comparison site and negotiate directly with them because they must offer you a bespoke deal that will meet your needs.

If you are looking for gas and electricity providers separately, then you’ll need to speak to them separately as well.

Switching to a new business energy provider

Switching to a new business energy provider is a straightforward process and there’s no loss of supply when you begin this undertaking. The market is still monitored by Ofgem to ensure that deals are honoured and supply is uninterrupted.

This process to find a new business energy supplier will take just a few minutes and should be done every year by all firms and organisations to help create competition between providers which will help deliver lower prices.

For those firms who may be wary about using smaller business energy providers, they need to appreciate that if they restrict their search of the marketplace to the ‘Big Six’ energy suppliers then there may not be substantial savings to be made because they may have similar prices.

That would be a shame because a smaller energy firm may offer other add-ons including a consultancy to help deliver big savings on how much energy you are using because they will help you use less of it. This, in turn, will deliver big savings over the long-term.

If you want to know more about how you can source lower business energy prices and speak to a team of experts who understand how the market works, then contact D-Energi today.
