The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

How to Save with Half Hourly Electricity Deals

by D-ENERGi

For large business users of energy, an effective way to reduce overheads is to save with half hourly electricity deals.

One way of doing this is to have these half hourly – or HH – meters installed to enable business electricity customers to obtain more accurate bills.

That’s because their electricity usage is being recorded and sent to their supplier every 30 minutes, hence the term half hourly meters. Most big users of electricity will have these meters already.

Also, larger businesses tend to have unique energy needs and, for example, they may be using heavy equipment or running production lines to higher levels than a smaller counterpart will do.

Search for half hourly electricity prices

In the search for half hourly electricity prices, then your business and a potential new supplier can access the data of your electricity usage to put together a bespoke offering.

Since a supplier will be able to understand the detail of how a firm is using electricity, they can then offer a flexible contract that is tailored to their unique needs.

As a result, large business users of electricity will be able to budget with some certainty over agreed energy prices or they could still opt for a variable price contract.

If you own a large business and are wondering whether you have HH meters installed then you should check with your supplier.

It’s also possible for a new supplier or a broker to offer a consultancy service that will check whether you have been overcharged previously for your electricity usage and the consultant can start the process for a refund.

A consultancy will also help your firm reduce the amount of electricity it uses to help deliver real long-term savings.

Attractions for half hourly electricity suppliers

One of the big attractions for half hourly electricity suppliers is that they will be able to calculate peak times for energy use and recommend cheaper non-peak times to help lower bills.

Also, half hourly meters ensure that the firm is paying the correct amount at all times for its electricity usage.

Sourcing a half hourly electricity quote means checking with suppliers directly, but they can vary hugely in their offers or a firm could speak with experts who understand how the half-hourly electricity supply market works.

That will mean contacting the friendly team at D-Energi who will be able to explain more about half hourly electricity deals and find a bespoke quote to help you reduce your firm’s overheads.
