The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

How to Review Your Business Energy Suppliers

by D-ENERGi

When it comes to your firm reviewing your business energy suppliers, how do you find a provider to trust?

The easiest way will be to speak with the experts at D-Energi because they have access to the entire market and can find the best deal on your behalf in just a few minutes.

It’s important to highlight that all firms should review their business energy providers every year when their contract comes up for renewal.

This exercise will not only ensure that you are not overpaying on your business energy needs, but you are also helping to stimulate competition in the business energy supplier market.

Switching business electricity suppliers

There are too many firms who believe that switching business electricity suppliers, and also for gas, is too much of a hassle but that is a potentially expensive mistake to make.

Put simply, if you do not search the market for a new supplier when your current provider gets in touch with a new contract, then they may move you across to more expensive out of contract rates instead.

These will be dearer than the rates being offered to new customers and one government survey highlights that around 40% of firms have not switched their electricity provider in recent years.

For those firms who want to keep tight control on costs, then searching the market for a cheaper business gas and electricity provider is a great way to do this. It’s also very good business practice.

Sourcing new business gas suppliers

This effort to search for new providers also extends to sourcing new business gas suppliers to reduce your bills – even though most firms are spending a lot less on their gas needs.

In addition to not overpaying on your gas and electricity overheads, you could also look to reducing consumption levels by opting to use a provider offering an energy consultancy for this purpose.

This means that in addition to accessing lower energy rates, you will have reduced consumption levels so you enjoy greater savings.

On top of this, the firm will also hire an experienced contractor and boost its environmental credentials to potential clients because you will have a way of proving that you have taken steps to reduce consumption levels to help our environment.

If you need to review your business energy suppliers, then it’s worth the time speaking with the friendly team at D-Energi first to see what they can do for you and they can also take care of the switchover process.
