The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Help and Advice for a Business Looking to Switch Energy Suppliers

by D-ENERGi

For many firms, the challenge to switch energy suppliers will inevitably lead to big cost savings compared with their current bills.

The process for switching is straightforward so there is little excuse for a business not to investigate the market to find a better deal and save money.

Unfortunately, most business people are tied-up in their daily tasks to undertake this process and when they do, they will be confronted with a wide range of suppliers and an even wider range of deals and tariffs.

This inevitably means lots of firms and organisations will remain with their current supplier and simply ‘roll over’ their contract without finding out whether this offer is the best available.

Best way to undertake an energy switch

So, the best way to undertake an energy switch is to find an organisation that understands the entire business energy market and appreciates that the best deals change frequently and they will know which will offer the best service.

This will mean contacting the experienced team at D-Energi who have all of this information at their fingertips and will be able to find the best deal in most cases.

Some organisations may also be afraid that their energy supply will be interrupted as they switch energy suppliers but this is not going to be the case and the energy supply will be uninterrupted so the business will be unaffected.

Firm looking to switch energy suppliers

There’s no doubt that for a firm looking to switch energy suppliers will have lots of questions about a new supply deal but the main aim is to find a supplier offering a great tariff that saves the organisation a substantial amount of money.

Also, while it may appear to be easy to use an online site that claims to have the latest deals it is unlikely they compare the entire market since business energy suppliers often tailor their tariffs to a business’s own needs.

The best way of getting a better deal is to have some recent bills to hand as well as the meter number so that a prospective energy supplier will know what the firm is using and then tailor a deal to suit this need.

For a business that simply does not have the time to spend making lots of calls to business energy suppliers, then it’s easier to make one call to the helpful team at D-Energi to learn more about the process to switch suppliers.
