The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Find The Best Commercial Electricity Quote and Save Money

All businesses and organisations who are looking to find the best commercial electricity quote and save money will, in doing so, boost profitability.

While this is a good intention, many of those running a business are too tied-up with the day-to-day operations to research thoroughly the potential savings that can be made.

This means they may be too busy to source a new commercial electricity supplier and will instead be automatically rolled by their current energy supplier onto a contract and it is likely they will be paying more than they need to for their electricity needs.

All organisations will be needing electricity for their everyday functions and so it makes sense to find the best possible deal from a supplier.

Some organisations may not believe just how much money they can save and, depending on usage, the savings every year could range from several hundred pounds to more than £1,000.

Supplier with cheaper commercial electricity rates

It is highly likely that all businesses will be able to save money by simply switching to another supplier with cheaper commercial electricity rates.

And this is a situation the government is keen to encourage to help lower electricity costs for businesses because with more competition means the suppliers are keener for a firm’s business.

In addition, with lots of new suppliers entering the market means many will want to differentiate their offerings from the traditional ‘big six’ energy suppliers so firms could look forward to improved customer service or an energy audit and not just cheaper electric prices.

There’s a lot to recommend switching to a supplier offering an energy audit because not only will they be offering electricity at a lower rate but they will also have a look at how the business uses their energy and make recommendations to reduce energy consumption.

The business enjoys a win-win situation because they will reduce money in the short-term with lower charges but also save money over the long-term because they will use less energy by following the tips from an energy consultant.

Too busy to research cheaper electric prices

So, for those firms who are simply too busy to research cheaper electric prices thoroughly, what can be done?

The easiest and obvious way is to visit some of the website comparison websites to find out what is potentially an offer from an energy supplier.

There are a number of issues to bear in mind should the business do this and the first is that the comparison website may not be searching the whole market to find the best possible deal.

Also, when the firm has to contact the potential new energy supplier they may be taken aback to find that the prices being offered on the comparison website and not available to them.

However, the quickest and easiest way for a business or organisation to find a cheaper electricity supplier is to contact experts who know and understand how the market works to find the best deal possible at that time.
