The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Electricity Quote for Large Business

by D-ENERGi

With so many providers available, sourcing an electricity quote for large business can be confusing and time-consuming.

To help, the D-Energi team have the expertise to find the best deal possible in just minutes and they do so by searching the entire marketplace.

It’s important to appreciate that sourcing a cheap electricity deal for a large business can be more complicated than sourcing one for a small or medium-sized enterprise.

This is particularly true if your firm is a very large user of electricity and has a half hourly meter – or HH meter – installed but this can work to your advantage.

Half hourly meter records your firm’s actual energy usage

That’s because a half hourly meter will record details of your firm’s actual energy usage which will also be very beneficial to a potential provider.

They will tailor their offering to meet your needs by analysing this data and you should be able to save money when doing so.

You should know that a large user of electricity will be a firm or organisation consuming more than 100 kW.

There is a provision that firms using more than 70 kWh can opt for a half hourly meter to be installed for their business.

The meter works differently to normal electricity meters in that the usage data is sent to the supplier every 30 minutes – hence the name.

Better electricity deals for firms with a half hourly meter

In addition to having HH meters, a large business may also find that there are specialist suppliers who will tailor their deals to meeting your needs and can offer better electricity deals for firms with a half hourly meter installed.

This means the size of your office or factory, including your annual turnover will be crucial to source these cheaper and better deals.

The potential provider will also want to know what your plans are for the forthcoming year or two, for example, will you be remaining in one place or do you plan to expand?

A potential electricity provider for a large business will then look at this information and offer a deal that will reduce overheads. It’s also possible to access very low prices by signing up for more than one year with a potential provider and some electricity suppliers will offer deals of up to four years to meet your needs.

While you could carry out a search of the marketplace to find an electricity quote for large business, it’s probably easier speaking with experts who understand how this specialist market works and that means contacting the friendly D-Energi team to find out more.
