The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Does Your Firm Compare Energy Prices?

by D-ENERGi

If your firm is looking for cheaper energy costs then the best way of doing this is to compare energy prices between providers.

There are ways of doing this quickly so you can save money and time to focus on your everyday business needs.

The most effective way is to contact the D-Energi experts who can access the whole marketplace to find the energy deal that will best meet your needs today and in the future.

Otherwise, you may be a busy business owner and you are faced with the prospect of spending time and energy searching for cheaper business energy prices to reduce your bills. This exercise can also be a daunting undertaking.

Cheaper business energy prices per kWh

The most effective way of accessing cheaper bills is to compare cheaper business energy prices per kWh between providers.

You will need to switch to a tariff that has a lower unit rate than you are currently being charged so you are paying less for the energy you use.

However, there are other costs that make-up your monthly electricity bill and there are two costs you should pay attention to.

The first is the unit cost, which is the price being paid for every unit of electricity you use which is measured in kilowatt hours or kWh.

While you may find a deal that has a lower kilowatt hour price, you need to appreciate that the standing charge, which is a daily amount charged for maintaining the National Grid and delivering electricity to your premises, may be dearer.

Cheaper business electricity rates per kWh

What you really need is a supplier offering a lower standing charge, as well as cheaper business electricity rates per kWh for your firm’s needs.

This should mean that you will pay less for your electricity with a new provider but it’s still worth checking the marketplace to ensure that you are doing so.

You may also need to appreciate the difference between a fixed and flexible tariff and there may be an opportunity to access cheaper prices by signing up for more than a year.

But how do you find these cheaper prices? You could contact suppliers directly but this is time-consuming or you could use a comparison site but this may not search the entire marketplace.

Instead, you may find it more rewarding and quicker to speak with the D-Energi team who can search the whole marketplace to find and compare energy prices between suppliers and organise the switchover process to a cheaper energy provider that better meets your needs.
