The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

D-ENERGi would like to commend the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and all civil servants involved working around the clock to implement the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. We appreciate BEIS efforts in working with all non-domestic suppliers over the last few weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following:

  • The scheme is only open to customers which have signed agreements with their suppliers from the 1st April 2022 onwards. The Energy Bill Relief Scheme comes into effect from the 1st October and a discount will be applied until 31st March 2023.
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • As portrayed in some media outlets there is no price cap for businesses. The price cap is on the wholesale element price only. Please do not expect the unit rates of 21.1 p/kwh for electricity and 7.5 p/kwh for gas to appear on your bills. These rates do not include the many other non-commodity costs which make up your bill for both gas and electricity.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Does Your Firm Compare Business Electricity Deals?

It may seem like a trivial question, ‘Does your firm compare business electricity deals?’, but it’s also an important one that all business owners need to appreciate.

That’s because to help with the overheads of your business, you should not be paying more than is necessary for your business electricity and gas provision.

And unless you check prices every year, how do you know whether you are paying over the odds and do you compare business electricity tariffs regularly?

Keeping on top of overheads is crucial to boost profitability and while comparing energy deals can appear to be a time-consuming undertaking, it’s a financially worthwhile exercise to complete.

Compare business gas deals

The same reasons for comparing business electricity offerings also extend to those firms who should compare business gas deals too.

While you may be spending much less on your gas bill, it’s still worth ensuring that you are not paying more than is necessary for gas supply.

And since the competition in business gas supply is competitive, you should be able to find a cheaper deal and you can do this by comparing suppliers directly using a comparison website.

The downside to using a business gas or electricity comparison site is that this platform may not be searching for all potential suppliers so there may be cheaper and better deals available.

So, how do you search the entire marketplace effectively to find a deal that reduces overheads?

Compare business energy tariffs

The best way to compare business energy tariffs is to contact the experts at D-Energi who can search the entire market for a bespoke offering that will reduce your overheads.

Since around 40% of firms, according to one government survey, have not bothered switching in recent years means it’s likely they are paying over the odds for their energy supply and their savings could be substantial. By switching to a new supplier, in some cases, the savings could be up to 30% or 40%.

The conversation with the D-Energi expert will only take a few minutes and they can also take care of the switchover process to bring peace of mind.

All firms should compare their business electricity deals, and their gas tariffs too, every year as a matter of standard business practice to ensure their overheads are as low as they can possibly be, so contact D-Energi today to find out what they can do for you.
