The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Compare Business Gas Providers and Deals

by D-ENERGi

To access the best deals and make realistic savings on costs, all businesses should compare business gas providers and tariffs effectively.

Whether you run a pub or a small tearoom, it’s worth taking the time finding a good business gas deal to ensure you do not pay more than you should be doing for your gas needs.

However, if you have not switched gas supplier recently, then it’s likely you will have been rolled over onto dearer out-of-contract rates.

You won’t be alone if this is the case since one government survey has revealed that around 40% of businesses have never swapped to a cheaper, better deal in recent years.

Compare business energy tariffs

The first step to accessing a cheap deal is to compare business energy tariffs and this can take a few moments.

It certainly will do if you contact the friendly D-Energi team who will take some information such as the name of your gas supplier, the contract end date and the name of the tariff you are on.

The team will also ask how much gas your firm is consuming before they search the entire market to find the best value tariff.

In addition, they can also highlight those providers who have other incentives such as an energy consultancy to help you reduce your gas and electricity consumption levels.

Compare business electricity providers

While we talk about switching business gas suppliers, the D-Energi team can also compare business electricity providers as well.

As mentioned, you could use an online comparison site for this purpose though you should check beforehand to see how many suppliers are being contacted to offer a quote.

It’s unlikely to be the entire market, so there could be cheaper offers that will go unnoticed but that won’t happen if you use D-Energi.

For those busy business owners who may think they do not have the time to spare finding a new business gas and electricity supplier, then it’s possible you will save a substantial amount on your current overheads.

That’s a financial incentive all firms will be interested in. Plus, by simply searching the market for a new deal you will help stimulate competition which will, in turn, benefit all firms and organisations.
