The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

D-ENERGi would like to commend the Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and all civil servants involved working around the clock to implement the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. We appreciate BEIS efforts in working with all non-domestic suppliers over the last few weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following:

  • The scheme is only open to customers which have signed agreements with their suppliers from the 1st April 2022 onwards. The Energy Bill Relief Scheme comes into effect from the 1st October and a discount will be applied until 31st March 2023.
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • As portrayed in some media outlets there is no price cap for businesses. The price cap is on the wholesale element price only. Please do not expect the unit rates of 21.1 p/kwh for electricity and 7.5 p/kwh for gas to appear on your bills. These rates do not include the many other non-commodity costs which make up your bill for both gas and electricity.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

Why a business should switch energy supplier

As part of good business practice all organisations should look at their running costs which means looking at whether they should switch energy suppliers for a better deal – and a better deal will mean lower energy prices.

With energy prices set to rise and a harsh winter being forecast means businesses should really begin to look for lower energy prices for their business needs.

It’s also possible to find energy supplier who specialise in delivering green energy, that is electricity sourced from renewable sources, which may help a business establish its environmental credentials. This energy is often just as cheap to sign up to and worth bearing in mind.

Best way of switching energy suppliers

The best way of switching energy suppliers is to search the market and while this may be a time-consuming process it is possible to use experts in the field and that means contacting D-Energi.

It’s just too easy for a business to remain with their current energy supplier even when they know they are probably paying more than they need to for their business energy needs.

However, if they realise just how much more they are paying for their energy then they would undertake a regular check of the business energy market to ensure they are receiving the best deals and tariffs available.

With more energy suppliers entering the market, there are some very good deals to be had for businesses and they could save a small fortune every year with a simple check.

Important to appreciate how easy the energy switch is

It’s also important to appreciate how easy the energy switch is and the supply of energy to a business will be uninterrupted.

And for those businesses that simply want to find a cheaper gas supply rather than for electricity or a dual-fuel deal then this is possible to arrange.

For most organisations looking to switch energy supplier, it’s important that they find a firm that is impartial as well as experienced and which understands what their business needs are and what the market for suppliers is like; the offerings from energy suppliers for business change on a daily basis but the team at D-Energi will always be aware of these.

Essentially, when it comes down to why a business should switch energy supplier, the answer is glaringly obvious and that is to save money on the business’s running costs and many firms will be surprised as to how much they can really save and all it takes is a phone call to the helpful team at D-Energi to begin this energy switching process to save money.
