The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

It’s An Easy Win When Firms Compare Business Gas Prices

by D-ENERGi

For those firms who are looking to reduce their overheads, then they could compare business gas prices for an easy win to save money and boost profits.

That’s because there are lots of other potential gas suppliers who will be offering better deals for the firm’s business.

A survey by the Mergers and Monopolies Commission revealed that 40% of firms haven’t switched their energy supplier for five years.

The downside to this level of inactivity means they are probably paying more than they need to for their gas needs.

Look to compare business electricity deals

On top of this, firms could also look to compare business electricity deals in order to make greater savings; it’s not possible for firms to enjoy dual fuel supply and they will need to organise a bespoke offering for each utility.

However, this is easier than it sounds with several comparison websites providing a guide to market rate and the offers currently available.

It’s even easier for a firm to save money on overheads by reducing gas and electricity bills by contacting the experts at D-Energi who will be able to understand the firm’s needs, which an online comparison website cannot do, and find the most suitable offers currently available.

Indeed, the offers for gas and electricity change frequently and the D-Energi team will have the latest deals available.

A firm compare business energy bills

There’s no doubt that should a firm compare business energy bills and offers they will, more than likely, make savings. But how much can a firm save?

The amount of money to be saved by switching energy suppliers will vary depending on their needs, company size and when their demand for energy is.

While they will be able to enjoy lower rates for their energy, it’s also possible to enjoy an energy audit to see where further savings and efficiencies can be made and this is where the experts can really come to the fore. Some potential energy supplies will offer this service so the firm enjoys long-term savings.

It’s also possible that the firm can switch energy use to a different part of the day to lower peak periods which are cheaper.

For more help and advice about how to compare business gas deals from various suppliers, and also for electricity, then firms should speak with the D-Energi team to see what they can do in helping to lower their energy bills.
