The Energy Bill Relief Scheme

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our prospective and existing customers and clarify the following on the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS):

  • The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) applies to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1st December 2021 as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1st October 2022 to 31st March 2023, running for an initial six-month period for all non domestic energy users..
  • All energy suppliers will apply the same discount. This discount will automatically appear on your statements. Customers do not need to apply for the scheme or contact us.
  • The BEIS department recommends all customers continue to enter into fixed price agreements as normal to shield businesses from future wholesale price increases. This way we can ensure all our customers are protected from the volatility in the current wholesale market.
  • For customers who qualify for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme we kindly ask all qualifying customers to provide us with monthly gas and / or electricity meter reads until end of the scheme. This should be done ideally on the first day of the month or no later than the 10th.This will be a great help to get your bills as accurate as possible and ensure we apply the right discount throughout the scheme period.

5 Tips for a Business Electricity Comparison

by D-ENERGi

One effective way to deal with any worries over potential electricity price rises is to carry out a business electricity comparison exercise and these tips will help.

If you are a busy business owner, then it’s still worth spending time finding a new supplier or you could use the experts at D-Energi to do this on your behalf to find a cheaper, better deal.

Switch suppliers

The first tip to reduce electricity overheads is to switch suppliers. You’ll need to find a bespoke deal for meeting your needs plus other incentives such as a dedicated account manager.

Know your contract date

It is crucial that you know when your current contract comes to an end so you can terminate and move to a cheaper provider using a business energy comparison exercise. The details will be on your bill – not acting in time could you see being rolled over onto dearer out of contract rates.

Compare electricity quotes

While it’s straightforward to search the market and find business electricity quotes, you’ll need to work out two charges. The first is the unit rate, this is for the actual electricity consumption your firm will have and the standing charge, which is the amount levied every day for supplying electricity.

Use experts

It can be time-consuming to obtain and then compare quotes between business electricity providers, so it may be a better use of your time to contact those who know the industry. Again, the D-Energi team can do this for you.

Go green?

It may suit your firm to opt for a green supply of electricity, which means the supplier will be using solar panels and/or wind turbines. You could even invest in generating your own energy too.

Use a smart meter

It may be a sound business idea to install a smart meter, usually provided free by your energy provider. You’ll be able to collect and analyse data of your energy consumption and then carry out measures to reduce it.

Consider an energy consultancy

One of the benefits of switching to a new provider is the opportunity that some offer of an energy consultancy. This will see an expert look at how and when you use electricity and recommend ways of using less. The consultant may also look at previous invoices as well as your gas and water consumption, too.

Essentially, these tips for a business electricity comparison exercise will help you and your firm enjoy cheaper prices and will be the basis for a business gas comparison but the best way to find a cheaper energy deal is to use the experts at D-Energi so contact them today to find out more.
