Find the best cheap business gas and electric deals

by Simon Thompson

Businesses are increasingly looking to find the best cheap business gas and electric deals and it’s much easier to do so nowadays. Along with the growth in competition, is an announcement by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to reform the UK’s business energy market. The organisation is concerned about price transparency and bringing to an end automatic rollover contracts and for suppliers to give their business customers prompts to switch to rival energy supplies offering lower energy tariffs. Most of those aims can be met if the business or organisations are prepared to shop around and do some research on potential business energy suppliers. Or, for an easier way to access lower tariffs, contact the team at D-Energi who will have the latest and best prices available. Looking to switch energy suppliers One reason for the intervention of the CMA is that most firms will not be looking to switch energy suppliers on a regular basis despite their business energy costs being a big outgoing for them. There are concerns that many firms are stuck in the auto-renewal cycle for their energy supply contracts to be renewed which may be costing them a hefty sum every year. For a business that has never switched energy suppliers, or if they have remained with the supplier over a long period of time, it’s highly likely that they are paying more for their energy use than they need to. By switching energy suppliers, the business or organisation should be able to access lower tariffs to bring down their energy costs. While domestic energy users are increasingly opting to switch between energy suppliers this hasn’t quite transferred to the business community. Not yet anyway! Find a cheap business gas supplier The easiest way for a business to find a cheap business gas supplier or an electricity supplier is to look at their recent energy bills and then contact various energy suppliers to discuss what tariffs they may offer for the firm’s energy usage. The energy supplier will be quoting their best rates they have by email or by telephone and it is straightforward process for the business to decide whether they want to proceed with the prices quoted on. Some businesses may be concerned about the hassle involved in switching supplies but it will take between four and six weeks with no disruption to the business’s energy supply. The transition is seamless. Switching to cheap business gas and electricity is a hassle-free process particularly if the business doing the switching is utilising the expertise of the team at D-Energi.

Get a commercial energy quote and save £££’s

by Simon Thompson

All businesses and organisations need to be looking at their running costs to ensure they remain competitive and finding a commercial energy quote that could reduce their outgoings could be crucial. Firms of all shapes and sizes regularly check the market to see what’s on offer to help reduce their energy costs and these can include looking at a fixed price energy plan. A plan like this will have fixed energy prices for up to three years so the business will know what its energy bills are going to be and they don’t need to worry about increasing electricity prices. This issue also leads onto ‘deemed rates’ which are for those businesses who are not on a fixed price energy plan. The business may instead be on a high electricity tariff, for instance, which is known as a deemed rate and by switching to cheaper tariffs they will, obviously, save money. Get a multisite commercial energy quote It’s also possible to get a multisite commercial energy quote which will make planning easier for the business since the sites will run under the same energy price tariff. The main aim is for a business or organisation to take control of their energy costs and they should monitor their energy usage by recording meter readings and then contacting energy providers to see if they can get cheaper prices. Or, as growing numbers of firms and organisations are doing, they could contact D-Energi who can help access a wide range of business energy suppliers and get the best tariffs available. It should also be appreciated that the process of finding cheaper energy tariffs is not just for established businesses or organisations, such as schools and hospitals, but also for new establishments. For those who want a new business electricity meter installing then this is a good opportunity to find the best possible tariffs and locking into low rates before the inevitable rise in energy prices over the next year or two. Business energy providers offer a range of commercial energy prices Business energy providers offer a range of commercial energy prices, contracts and contract lengths which can be confusing but it is possible to sign up for a flexible contract that delivers the lowest business energy rates quite easily. Remember, getting a commercial energy quote is a straightforward process which could lead to the organisation saving a lot of money on their energy costs – money they do not need to be spending currently and which will boost their profitability instead; so for the best help and advice in switching energy suppliers contact the helpful team at D-Energi.

Compare business energy offerings and save!

by Simon Thompson

Most businesses and organisations want to reduce costs and if they could compare business energy offerings they could save money and boost profitability. While there are energy price comparison websites available which will compare energy prices from a variety of suppliers, they may not offer the best deals. Businesses could benefit by using experts in the field to get them a better deal for their energy needs and find fairer, cheaper rates. Firms need to appreciate that their energy tariffs are different to domestic ones and that competition in the sector means the rates for electricity and gas usage can change on a daily basis. Compare business electricity offerings to get the best deals For this reason alone, firms looking to change energy suppliers should work with an expert who understands how to compare business electricity offerings to get the best deals. The reason why energy tariffs are different for businesses is that they use more energy than most households and they use it in different ways so they need a supplier who can meet their demands. For instance, a large business may be operating across several locations and using a lot of energy so should be able to access multisite energy deals where everything is on a single tariff which will save them money and time. Large energy users also have half-hourly metering so they will get meter readings every 30 minutes and they will be able to find exactly when their peak energy usage times are as well as their off-peak times too. Organisations looking to compare business gas prices For those organisations looking to compare business gas prices then the size of their operation will determine the type of deals that may be offered. The business also needs to appreciate whether they want to be on a variable or fixed rate tariff for their gas prices. There are many reasons why a business would want to switch energy suppliers but no one wants to overpay their energy bills and by switching supplier a business could save substantial amounts of money, depending on the size of their operation and energy needs. It does take time and effort to find the best energy rates and it’s always worthwhile contacting experts in the field because they have the experience and expertise in finding the best deals at the best prices. Also, by using a specialist firm they can help navigate a way through the switching process to ensure everything runs smoothly and help terminate the current provider’s service and switch to a new business energy supplier. For any firm that wants to compare business energy costs, then the helpful team at D-Energi will be able to help with more information and advice.

What is P272 and what should businesses know?

by Simon Thompson

For business energy users in the UK, P272 is a rule that demands that the energy supplier provides more detailed data on the business’s energy use. These are new regulations and are known as half hourly (HH) consumption data to help calculate the bill for a customer by using advanced meters for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR). It’s important to appreciate that for any business customer with AMR metres already installed then these metres will be automatically converted into half hourly meters. The result of this combination means that the energy provider, as well as the business customer, will get details of their energy costs which are retrieved on a half hourly basis. The P272 regulations Essentially, the P272 regulations were brought in by the energy watchdog Ofgem to give business energy users better understanding of their energy consumption. The result of this is that the energy provider is able to offer better services and products to help meet the business’s need which may include tariffs with better prices for the business to use energy when it’s cheaper. It also means the business has a clear idea of what they are spending on their energy costs and their data can be used for finding a cheaper energy supplier, for instance D-Energi. Some businesses may be confused about whether they will be affected by the change in regulations and the type of meter they have installed. For those who are confused, they should check their energy bill or contact their supplier directly. The easiest way is to check their supply number which will be detailed on their electric bill (this is a legal requirement for it to be on there) and will detail their profile class. Important thing to appreciate about P272 The most important thing to appreciate about P272 is that it enables the business to not only manage their costs more effectively but also manage their energy use more smartly. That’s because they will see which times of day the business is using the most energy and by having a clear idea of consumption means they should be able to access better, ie cheaper, tariffs. There is a deadline for the new half hourly meters to be installed by 1 April 2017. All meters will be billed in a new way from this date and all businesses need to be aware of this change and meet it. Just to recap about the benefits of P272: Enables a business to receive accurate bills Offers a business the ability of avoiding using electricity in peak times Gives a clear insight of the firm’s energy use Provides a great opportunity for efficiencies and improvements. For more help and advice on P272 then the helpful team at D-Energi will be able to provide more information.
